PROJECT "NO MORE MATILDAS". INTERNATIONAL DAY OF WOMEN AND GIRLS IN SCIENCE (11th FEBRUARY 2022)

Last 11th February, in order to celebrate the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, our Technology teacher, Mrs Sara Jiménez, and her students of 2º ESO A, B and C, created very special projects, with the collaboration of Elle T. Moran, our Linguistic Assistant.

In these projects, following the No more Matilda campaign,  they explained the discrimination that some scientific women had suffered in their careers and the way their achievements have been ignored.

The students explained their projects to their classmates, enphasizing the ways in which women had been discriminated in the scientific area throughout history. Here you can see some pictures of their presentations in their classrooms.

If you want more information in English about the No more Matildas movement, there are plenty of pages on this topic, both in Spanish and English. For example, you can watch the video and texts in this webpage: www.nomorematildas.com/en.

In this page, an interesting question is made: What would have happened if Einstein or other famous male scientists had been women?

Food for your thoughts this weekend!
